Wine

Château Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Eden Valley Shiraz is one of a series that showcases the combined effects of site, soil and climate – known as terroir – on the vine and its fruit.

The Eden Valley, while technically part of the Barossa, has a higher altitude, cooler climate and rocky, clay loam soils. Together these characteristics lead to richer, darker flavours in the wines.

To ensure the unique character of the fruit is retained, it is fermented in small open vessels. The wine is then basket pressed to gently separate the skins.

The basket press, imported from France, is the Rolls Royce of basket pressing, it ensures the grapes express the unique character of their place of origin.

Most of the wine matures in new and seasoned French oak barrels while a smaller portion ages in American oak.

Deep purple, Château Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Eden Valley Shiraz layers fruit flavours with mineral complexity and a long, even finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
